Wednesday Link List

With lots of people doing summer things this week, I thought we’d tinker with the format while nobody’s looking. ANYTHING YOU CLICK will take you to PARSE, the blog of Leadership Journal, the Link List’s owner.  But first, we take you to Monday’s edition of the comic Pearls Before Swine (click image to link).

Pearls Before Swine June 9th 2014

I usually bury the video links near the bottom, but this week uncovered two clips I wanted to give more prominence.

Church leadership stuff:

Essay(s)-of-the-Week:

The wider religious world:

  1. Departments for Wednesday links? By no means! By using departments, you yourself will become departmentalized. Instead of what seems to be free-formed scourings of the internet you’ll be ruled by these topic matters, thinking you need more ‘music’ links or fewer ‘Calvin’ articles followed by the dreaded I-like-this-link-but-it-doesn’t-fit-anywhere-so-I’ll-delete-it disposition. Regardless of what you decide I remain a faithful reader. Peace be with you.

    • Oh my! I never knew it was this complicated!

…Just peeked at your tumblr. I loved the comment about buying a car:

You buy a car. They cost plenty of money already but the feller you bought it from says. “That’s not enough!”. You become a stooge by having your car used as a rolling billboard for his product. He slaps a sticker on the heiney-end of your auto and attaches a plastic plate on the front of your instantly depreciating investment. The sticker I can do nothing about but the plate can be tossed but for his arrogance his name will be unknown to you.

      • Upon review, it is Biblical to have order as witnessed in the Garden of Eden, the naming of animals and the building of cities. My previous post probably had more to do with spending the last few weeks listening to the Grateful Dead to erase the memory of an unfortunate end to the school year. I’ve changed my mind that categories may be the best way to go after all.
Thank you for the kind words regarding thepurginglutheran.
