Emerging out of the original “Jesus Music” days to become “CCM” or “Contemporary Christian Music;” the genre became more sophisticated with the arrival of The Sweet Comfort Band and later, DeGarmo & Key.

Late last week we learned of the passing of Sweet Comfort’s Kevin Thomson on May 30th.   You can read the memorial page and listen to some classic Christian music (recorded) or a classic 1997 Christian concert.

Then today we learned of the passing of D&K’s Dana Key last night.  You can read Todd Agnew’s blog, and listen to some classic D&K music onthe concept video “666.” Also, a cover by Dana of Larry Norman’s “The Outlaw;” which they may well be singing together as you read this.

Dana Key was only 56 years old.   Kevin Thomson was only 57 years old.

Both contributed to the advancement of a musical genre which is reflected in today’s modern worship, which you now experience every time you go to church on Sunday.
