Thinking Out Loud

The Long and Short of It

Filed under: Christianity — paulthinkingoutloud @ 7:18 am

She’s someone we met through our business who has become a friend of the family. I hadn’t seen her in awhile so when she walked in on Friday I was anxious to catch up.

Me: Hi! Good to see you.

Her: How are you?

Me: Fine, how are you?

Her: Cancer.

…and that was it. One word. That word.

Well, almost. There was this:

Me: How long?

By that I meant, ‘When were you diagnosed?’

But she took it to mean, ‘How long have you got?’

  1. I just cannot stop reading this. I feel so bad for you (and your friend of course), but particularly bad for you.
