The U.S. Immigration Crisis

Immigration Jesus Cartoon

I believe that the US/Mexico border is allowed to ‘leak’ because there are jobs that Americans simply don’t want to do. But protesting appears to make sense when the unemployment numbers are high. It’s complicated.

Does anyone know the origin of today’s cartoon? It was on Twitter last night, but uncredited.

  1. I believe that you are very wrong. This illegal act is getting out of control. They are costing us money that we do not have!!! We can not keep spending money on people breaking the law. THEY ARE BREAKING THE LAW.

    • The United States as a nation possesses both technology and military might that knows no bounds. This is the nation that sent rockets to the moon 45 years ago and helped build the International Space Station. They could electronically seal that border in a heartbeat if the will was there.

No, the “holes” in the border have been allowed to be there, but where you are right is where you say it’s “getting out of control.” Now the chickens have come home to roost and people in U.S. border towns are demanding action. Penetration of the border doubled in 2012 from 2011; doubled again in 2013; and has doubled in only six months in 2014.

    • Interesting, but you can see why it was edited. Too often we try to cover more than one subject in a single ‘volley,’ and the section that I found and later posted simply deals with the immigration issue.

  2. I don’t know where this images came from but try this as a way to find them. On my Mac I do the following:

    1. add the photo to your library or copy the image url
    2. go to, click on images
    3. you should see a camera icon at the far right of the search bar
    4. click on the camera and you’ll get two options, one to paste the image url or to upload the photo from your library
    5. do either of these and google will take you to a page where you’ll see references to that picture on the internet

    • We were on a tight deadline last night. The PC equivalent of this image search involves dragging the image into a search box.
Again, see previous comment as to why I’m leaving it for now.

For the record then, the artist is Matt Bors.
