The Congregation as Seen by the Worship Leader

This is something my wife came up with a few days ago.   Have you ever wondered what the congregation looks like when you’re standing at the front leading?   Fortunately, the ones you notice most are people really entering into worship; but if you look more carefully, it probably looks like this:

  1. My wife, the worship leader at our church, gave a hearty “Amen Sister” to this one!

  2. Da—– don’t you get it? The Keystones of worship are: prayer,,scripture reading,,hymn requests from the worshippers,, the celebration of the Lords Supper(his body given, his blood shed),, testimonies encouraged,, and a good “sing-song” and use the Hymnals in the pews more often. So let the worshippers, worship, as they will; Allow the congregation to be seated more of the time. Adopt a similar format at your church and much of the latency I think ,will disappear Respectfully JL

  3. Yup. Love it. It’s very descriptive and complex. …And helpful to put “feet” on a few things! Thanks.

I posted similarly about this, relating back to something John Wesley had said about worship long ago:

  4. That looks about spot-on Ruth. :) My problem was always that the “wish they were singing something else” group were very vocal about it.
