God…sent the flood, had the Canaanites slaughtered, slaughtered the first born son of every Egyptian family, opened up the earth to swallow up a bunch of rebellious Israelites and sends people to hell — to name just a few of Yahweh’s exploits mentioned in the Bible. But what if …when the Bible says God did these things it didn’t mean he actually did them, only that he allowed them and accepts responsibility for them?
So begins an interesting piece by Pastor Greg Boyd of Woodland Hills (Minneapolis, MN) Church. He, in turn, was challenged by another writer to look at some Old Testament occurances in a new and different way. Which is rather typical of Greg, by the way. You can check out his sermons online in the link always on the right side of this blog. Read the article on Greg’s Blog, here.

Thanks for drawing my attention to this.
I’ve put my own thoughts up about this book.
